Park Project Updates March 2024

Bryte Park Master Plan Implementation
The City working with a consultant to design 100% of the improvements at Bryte Park, including a new aquatics facility.  Design is expected to be complete by fall 2024.  Construction is anticipated to begin spring 2025.

Southport Levee Trailhead
Construction almost complete.  Funding of the property acquisition and construction were paid in part by the Habitat Conservation.  Improvements include a plaza with a restroom, parking lot, equestrian staging area, ADA accessible ramp to the crown of the levee, public art, shade, benches, educational kiosks.

Westacre Park
Design and Construction are fully funded by $7,843,000 of Prop 68 SPP funding.  The project will go out to bid in spring 2024. Improvements will include new skate park and pump track, playfields, inclusive playground equipment, splash pad, restroom facility, walking loops,  pickle ball and futsol courts, reflexology and mediation paths, and public art.  Construction anticipated to start December 2024, completed by May 2025.

Southport Levee Recreation Trail
At completion, the Southport Levee Recreation Trail will provide a new 5.6 miles of class 1 bike trail along the crown of the Southport Setback Levee.   The design of the trail was funded primarily by Prop 68 Community and Economic Enhancement Grant Funding.  The paving of the trail will be funded by Community Project Funding/Congressionally Directed Spending.  Construction is anticipated to be complete summer of 2025.

Heritage Oaks Park Master Plan Project
80% park design is scheduled to be completed by June 2024.  The 80% park design will be presented to PRIS summer 2024. 100% design is scheduled to be completed by September 2024.  The final park design plans and specifications will be released to the public to bid for construction in the fall of 2024.  The construction period will occur March 2025 through December 2025.
