The City of West Sacramento joins our community in mourning the loss of former Mayor and long-time City Councilmember Bill Kristoff, who passed away over the weekend.

He was sworn in as part of the original City Council in 1987, and served through 2016.

Bill Kristoff will long be remembered as a voice of the people, never losing sight of the importance of listening to his constituents. Mr. Kristoff helped champion several significant City initiatives, including the construction of Sutter Health Park, the IKEA shopping center, the George Kristoff Water Treatment plant, the new City Hall and Community Center, and the City's comprehensive flood protection strategy.

Mr. Kristoff was widely appreciated for his no-nonsense approach to civic duty, and his example set the standard for public service in West Sacramento.
